How to Get Certified

To qualify as a candidate for ServSuccess certifications, professionals simply must meet the prerequisite requirements to sit for the exam. Although learning suites, courses, and interactive study guides are available to help individuals prepare, taking and passing the exam is all that is needed to become certified.

  1. Select the appropriate career level certification
  2. Review and ensure all prerequisites are met
  3. Gather documentation needed to validate qualifications (resume, required certificates, etc.)
  4. Purchase the exam
  5. Complete an application
  6. Once an application is approved, an account will need to be created on the ProctorU website
  7. Schedule the certification exam on a day and time that is most convenient
  8. An online proctor will guide examinees on the day of the exam
  9. Once the certification exam is passed, a professional certification will be awarded

How to do a Retest

If an exam is failed upon first attempt, examinees can automatically enroll for a re-examination after purchasing a new exam. A second application does not need to be submitted. To do this, the following criteria must be met:

  1. A new exam must be purchased for each retake attempt
  2. Find a Proctor for each retake attempt (additional fees may apply)
  3. Retake the exam four (4) times within a one- (1)-year period from the first attempt
  4. Retake the exam without having to re-apply with at least 30 days between each attempt

Note: After four (4) failures, an examinee must wait 12 months from the first attempt before being eligible to re-apply to sit for the exam again.
